Grub Control

The only thing more embarrassing than weeds in your lawn is unsightly brown patches of dead grass. We don’t need to tell you how grubs can make short work of a beautiful lawn. Here in Kentucky, they’re a major problem and one of the most common causes of lawn damage in our area. It’s not just the grubs themselves that cause damage to your perfectly manicured lawn. Skunks, birds, raccoons, and moles will gladly tear holes in your lawn to get at these delicious pests.

Since grubs live under the ground it’s hard to tell if you have a problem until the problem begins to show itself. It’s important to keep a vigilant eye on your lawn in the spring. If you start to see dead patches, dig under the turf to see if grubs are the cause. A few grubs aren’t usually enough to warrant you spending money on grub control. As a general guideline, if you find more than 10 inside a square foot, then it’s time to take action.

Fleas and Ticks

Fleas and ticks are a big problem here in Kentucky and an even bigger problem inside your home. Fleas and ticks can live virtually anywhere in your lawn and are usually brought into your home by hitching a ride on your cat or dog. Once inside they can quickly cause an out of control infestation that is extremely hard to get rid of.

Our insect control is applied as needed. At Leisure Time Lawn Care we don’t want you wasting money on unnecessary products. What other lawn care companies won’t tell you is that most insecticides don’t have a very long residual, meaning they work when they are applied but wears off very fast. We advise you to only purchase insect control if you know for certain there is an insect problem. That’s not only good for the environment but your wallet as well.

Once we’ve established that you have an insect problem, we will send out one of our pest control specialist to assess the situation and craft a program that best suits your situation. We will follow up with regular visits until the problem is taken care of.
